How the information is checked

State fees, minimum limits and SR-22 rules are checked against the state agency website or the law itself, and each page links to its sources and shows when it was last checked. Where a state does not publish a figure, we say so instead of guessing. Uninsured-driver rates come from the Insurance Research Council. Fees and rules change, so confirm with the agency before you pay.
